**This position will rotate shifts.

**

**JOB SUMMARY:
** The Security Officer carries out responsibilities of maintaining order within the health center by monitoring and securing the premises, responding to threats and safety concerns. Enforces all health center regulations in accordance with applicable operation guidelines. Assists law enforcement agencies and the Mason City Fire Department personnel as required when on medical center property.

**QUALIFICATIONS:
** High school diploma or equivalent required. Law enforcement education preferred. 1 to 2 years of previous experience with public or military law enforcement agencies preferred. Neatness and diplomacy skills required. Writing skills necessary to file daily and special reports required. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required. Computer skills. Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.

Completes Mandatory Reporting:
Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years. Completes MANDT Training within 6 months of hire and maintains current status.
